Feedback & Bug Reports
Railroader is in Early Access and we’re still building it, so what you tell us shapes where it goes. Bug reports and feedback both land in the same two places:
- Our Discord community
- The Steam discussions
We read both.
Before You Report
Section titled “Before You Report”- If you have mods installed, disable them and try again. We can help with the game itself, but we can’t support third party mods. If it only happens with a mod enabled, contact that mod’s author.
- Check Known Issues. It doesn’t cover everything, but it may save you the trouble.
What to Include
Section titled “What to Include”The more of this you have, the faster we can act on it. Don’t let a missing piece stop you from posting.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- The steps to get there, if you can reproduce it.
- Your game version, and whether you’re on a beta branch such as Experimental.
- Your log file.
- Your save file, if the problem is with a particular game.
Screenshots and short clips help a lot for anything visual, and they’re often quicker than describing it.
Finding Your Log File
Section titled “Finding Your Log File”Paste this into the File Explorer address bar:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Giraffe Lab LLC\RailroaderPlayer.log is the log from the session that’s running now, or the most recent one if the game is closed. The previous session’s log is kept alongside it as Player-prev.log — so if you’ve already restarted the game since the problem happened, that’s the one to send.
The log records the game version and build at the top, which answers the version question above.
Finding Your Save Files
Section titled “Finding Your Save Files”Saves are in the Saves folder in that same directory, and they end in .shortsave:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Giraffe Lab LLC\Railroader\SavesIf a save won’t load, or something in it has gone wrong, sending the file is usually the fastest route to a fix.
